NoteICCU failure (E-GMP) — early builds
The Ioniq 5 N went on sale from 03/2024: cars built up to April 2024 still have the old ICCU, which can stop charging the 12 V battery (bang, loss of power, breaking down). Later builds have the revised part.
Check: Check the build date (data sheet / VIN): built up to 04/2024 → check by VIN whether the ICCU recall was done (software update, part replaced where needed); built from 05/2024 → revised ICCU.
Coverage: Cars built up to April 2024 are covered by the German warranty extension (17.04.2026): 15 years / 300,000 km from first registration on the ICCU.

EV details
Is it enough for your day-to-day?
One charge lasts 5 days in winter (−10 °C) and 7 days in mild weather.
Using real-world range, charged to 80 %, 10 % reserve: 281 km per charge in mild weather, 232 km in winter.
Mild means ≈ 23 °C, cold ≈ −10 °C without pre-heating — the same for every car, so the figures compare.
What does charging cost?
| €/kWh | Full charge | per 100 km | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Home (wallbox) | €0.34 | €31 | €8.74 |
| Public AC | €0.50 | €46 | €12.85 |
| DC fast charging | €0.60 | €55 | €15.42 |
Prices from the open assumptions (adjustable in the calculator); consumption = mild real-world incl. charging losses.
Charging curve (DC)
NMC: high energy density (more range), usually charge to ~80% for longevity.
