1. Overview

Evident works fully without an account. Registered users can persistently store their driving profile (km/year, holding period, home-charging share) and a saved shortlist. Logged-out users store this data exclusively in the local browser (localStorage) — it never leaves the device.

2. Data collected and why

Account (optional): Email address, password (hashed, never in plaintext), optional display name. Purpose: authentication and cross-device sync. Legal basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

Profile: Annual mileage, holding period, home-charging share. Purpose: computing personalised €/month TCO values. Legal basis: consent / contract performance (Art. 6(1)(a)(b) GDPR).

Saved cars: IDs of shortlisted vehicles. Purpose: cross-device availability. Legal basis: contract performance.

Page-view statistics (anonymous): Cloudflare Web Analytics — cookieless, no IP storage, no personal identifiers. No cookie banner required.

3. Sub-processors

• Neon (US/EU) — Database hosting (Postgres). EU region.
• Fly.io (US/EU) — API hosting (Frankfurt). EU region fra.
• Cloudflare (US) — CDN, static hosting, Web Analytics.

Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) are in place with all sub-processors.

4. Deletion & your rights

You can export your account and all associated data, and delete it completely, yourself at any time in your profile. You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, and port your data (Art. 15–20 GDPR); a contact route for requests the profile does not cover is published with the legal notice before launch.

Local browser data (localStorage) can be deleted at any time via browser settings.

5. Miscellaneous

Evident shows no ads and contains no affiliate links. All €/month figures are model estimates — not binding quotes.

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Bavaria: Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht (BayLDA).
