Charging 101
AC vs DC. At home and at lamp-posts you charge with alternating current (AC), usually up to 11 kW — fine overnight. On the road, direct current (DC) matters: 50 to 250+ kW.
The charging curve beats the peak number. 250 kW is useless if the car only holds it briefly. What counts is the 10–80% time. We model the curve from peak power and battery chemistry.
1-stop range. More realistic than WLTP range: the distance with one ~15-minute fast-charge stop at 110 km/h. That’s exactly what our detail pages show.
Battery chemistry.
- LFP — affordable and durable, fine to charge to 100% daily, weaker in the cold.
- NMC/NCA — higher energy density (more range); charge to ~80% for longevity.
